Member Benefits 

Memberships include

•  Full voting privileges in AFS elections

•  Access to the AFS Freethought Library

•  Email subscription to our excellent monthly newsletter, Atlanta Freethought News.

There is no age restriction for membership, nor any "loyalty oaths," though we do ask everyone considering membership to refrain from joining if they do not agree in general with the AFS statement of purpose.

Memberships last one year from the date of payment of dues, and are renewable on that anniversary date every year.

Types of Memberships

TYPE	COST	DESCRIPTION
Individual	$25	Newsletter subscription delivered via email (Adobe Acrobat PDF format) and all member privileges are included for one person.
Household	$35	A single newsletter subscription and two votes in the elections but all other member privileges are included for all members of the household.
Additional Household	+$5 each	Additional members of a household may register to vote by paying this surcharge.
Low-income Individual	$10	Newsletter subscription and all member privileges are included for one person. This is a self-declared category for anyone who would like to join but would find the full dues a financial hardship. No questions are asked nor evidence required for this discount.
Sustaining Individual	$100	For individuals who would like to make a more substantial financial contribution to AFS. The newsletter subscription and all member privileges are included, and the individual is entitled to one complimentary AFS product, such as a calendar or t-shirt.
Sustaining Household	$125	For households that would like to make a more substantial financial contribution to AFS. The newsletter subscription and all member privileges are included, and the household is entitled to two complimentary AFS products, such as calendars or t-shirts. Two votes are allotted to the membership, and additional voters in the household must register; the additional household surcharge is waived for sustaining households.
Paper Newsletter delivered by US Mail	+$15	Standard newsletter subscription includes a Adobe Acrobat PDF version of our newsletter which can be easily printed. If a member would like to have a preprinted newsletter delivered by postal mail, additional $15 charge is added.

Newsletter Subscriptions (no membership included)

Newsletter subscriptions alone are available for those who do not wish to become full members. Subscribers may not vote in AFS elections, borrow materials from the library, or apply member discounts for products. Subscribers are welcome to attend any AFS meeting or event or to use the library materials while on-site.

An electronic version of the Atlanta Freethought News (AFNews) is available by email in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Please consider receiving your newsletter this way; you will receive it quicker while helping the environment along with saving AFS over $1.00 per newsletter.
